To advance to the next level, a California
real estate property appraiser at
the Certified Residential level will
require 200 hours of appraisal education
and must have an Associates Degree
(or equivalent). In lieu of the Associates
Degree, 21 college semester credits
in specific courses will qualify.
A Certified appraiser is qualified
to perform residential real estate
appraisal assignments.
A California appraiser at the Certified
General level will require 300 hours
of basic appraisal education and at
least a Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
In lieu of the Bachelors Degree, an
applicant may complete 30 semester
hours in courses covering specific
topics such as Economics and Finance.
A California real estate appraiser
at the certified level is qualified
to perform commercial appraisals.
